DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAGONFLIES PROGRAM
The Dragonflies program is a preschool class designed for students who are transitioning to the Pre-K class. The teachers in this classroom provide individualized attention to each student, helping them develop their social skills and encouraging them to engage in more cooperative play. Students are offered a variety of open-ended play options and messy play activities, which give them the opportunity to exchange ideas, empathize with others, and work together to design their play environment. The teachers regularly redesign the Dragonfly play spaces to support each student in reaching their next developmental milestones. Through small group discussions and creative group design projects, students build on their existing social skills and continue to grow and develop as individuals. Overall, the Dragonflies program offers students a supportive and adaptive learning environment, which prepares them for success in their future academic endeavors.
