At NCC, we believe caring for our planet is part of caring for each other—and honoring God's creation. As a certified Bay Area Green Business since 2012 and recipient of the Acterra Award for Sustainability, we are proud to model environmental responsibility for our children, families, and greater community.
Our green campus makes healthy, intentional choices every day to reduce our carbon footprint and live sustainably. Through these efforts, we teach children that even small actions—like composting, recycling, and tending a garden—can have a meaningful impact on the world around them.

NCC AS A BAY AREA GREEN BUSINESS
Since December 2012, NCC has officially been a certified Bay Area Green Business! In February 2016, we were re-certified as a Green Business. This means our school has complied with the environmental regulations and have met the general practices and targets resource conservation and pollution prevention measures. Some general practices are:
- Track water and energy usage and solid and hazardous waste generation.
- Adopt a written environmentally preferable (or green) purchasing policy.
- Establish a 'green team' that can help guide efforts to green your business.
- Provide three on-going incentives or training opportunities to encourage management and employee participation.
- Inform your customers about your efforts to meet the Green Business Standards.

ACTERRA AWARD WINNER FOR SUSTAINABILITY
NCC has received a Business Environmental Acterra Award for Sustainability with Special Commendation and is recognized for their leadership in the three pillars of sustainability: people, planet and profit. We are honored that we are able to say that WE ARE the little preschool that received this prestigious environmental award in 2014 that were among nominees such as Google. This was a special category created especially for NCC that will never be used again.
