Dear NCC Families and Staff,

We all know the widespread effects of flooding in and around our area, especially those in San Jose that were evacuated.  One of our NCC teachers is among the many who were evacuated along with their extended family.  They have lost most of their possessions and are in need of donations of food, clothes and other items.  There are a total of seven children and six adults.  Please consider donating new or gently used items and gift cards.  You may also donate by cash or check payable to NCC and designating it "SJ Flood Family".  Here is the list of what they need:

  • Gift cards in any amount for:  Safeway, Food for Less, Target, Walmart, etc.
  • Healthy snack packs
  • Bottled water
  • Juice bottles
  • Canned soups and vegetables
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Pots and pans for cooking
  • Microwave oven
  • Large blender
  • Glass food storage containers
  • Toaster
  • Pillows
  • Warm blankets
  • Sleeping bags
  • Large carpet mat
  • They also need to purchase a new sofa and mattresses
  • The children specifically need clothing including pants, shirts, socks, underwear and warm jackets/clothing.  If you have children with extra gently used clothing, please consider donating these sizes or gift cards for Target and Walmart.  Children's sizes and specific Items requested include:
  • Girls size 8
  • Girls size 3
  • Girls size 12 (Needs shoes - Youth size 5 1/2
  • Girls size 6/6 small
  • Boys size 8 (2 Boys)(Needs shoes - Youth size 11/12)
  • Boys size 3T/4T (Pampers size 6, Socks 4T and wipes for sensitive skin)
  • Backpacks for all seven children
  • School supplies (Paper, pencils, crayons, etc.)
  • Children's Books

The six adults are sized:

  • Womens:  Small, Medium, Large & XX Large
  • Mens:  Med & Large
  • Adults Jackets:  Small, Medium, Large and XX Large

Please bring your donations to the NCC office and we will get them to the families.  If you need a tax donation receipt, please request it at the time of your donation.  We are truly grateful for any help you can provide for these two families in their time of need.
